This is my back yard 4 days ago........
Our yard has been a work in progress since we finished our house. Landscaping is a huge job! We finally got serious this Spring and accomplished our goal! The following pictures are the process we have gone through the last month...
We first poured a big cement patio out back. This cement truck barely fit between our house and the neighbors fence! It was a tight SQUEEZE!
Andy's brother Troy put together a cement crew that helped finish the cement. They all worked so hard!
They put a "stamp" finish on the top of the cement. It looks great!
This picture below is looking off of our back deck. It was so wonderful to see this instead of messy dirt, weeds, and other clutter!
The next step was sprinkler system, leveling, and grass!! Luckily Andy did some electrical work for a Landscape Business owner. They did a little trade work for each other -- works for me!
I woke up to the sight of the SOD truck this morning! What is it that is so exciting about a truck full of grass?? I don't know, but I almost started to cry!
This is before sod...
Five hours later....... happy kids on happy grass basking in the sunlight!
We also had a hole dug for our trampoline...you can see in the background.
After a year and a half of mud, dirt, and DUST I must admit that green grass feels really good! Now, if any of you have a riding lawn mower you would like to sell for cheap -- call me, I'm interested!! :)

I love it!! I totally know how happy sod can make you!! Once our backyard was done we just played on the grass all day!! It is a wonderful thing to have a backyard!!
wow guys!!! that looks so awesome! You left out what happened to the huge rocks that found a home in your front yard? Congrats thats really fun
I am so jealous!! One day my yard might look like that. It looks so good. Thanks for feeding my husband this weekend.
Robyn, don't be ashamed of the little victories of life like getting sod. It so rarely happens that things turn out like you want them to. The kids look the happiest, now that they don't have to play in dirt. Though they're kids, they probably wouldn't care.
This is the best sod blog I have ever seen.........

oh i'm so happy for you! honestly having a yard would be a dream. it's BEAUTIFUL! I can't wait to come jump on that trampoline. Tell Maddie good job on her backhandspring....I want to see that on our next trip to Manti (maybe she can help Chloe with hers!)
Robyn,
That looks like a very big back yard...maybe you should have called the cement truck back, and put half of it in a basket-ball court. We have been tending our lawn for forty nine year....(well, somebody has)and they do require attention!
Better than dirt, though, but remember, once you mow, it's all over..your job forever. Like I have ever mowed, but I know the consequences.
Patio looks great too.
Lawn beautiful, and just perfect for a Cox family cook out.
See what you've done?
Love you all,
jt
Oh I TOTALLY know how you feel. At least you got sod, I had to wait for my hydroseed to grow. I never complain about Kev having to mow all of the grass cause I had mud for so long, I appreciate it! It looks great! Looks like a great spot for Bonko BBQ :)
