Just because school starts doesn't means the fun stops! We have had one action packed week and it isn't over yet!
Monday, First day of school!
They met their friends at the corner and walked to school on the first day. I followed them taking pictures! :) Madison and Breanna---starting 5th grade! Alex starting 1st, and Kevin starting 2nd! One thing was missing at the school....can you guess??? GRANDMA!!! There was no stopping into the Principal's office for a treat and hug. :(

On Wednesday, after school, Mom and I took Madison and Alex up to Salt Lake to see the Broadway Production of "Lion King!" It was a great musical with incredible costumes and powerful singing. The kids loved it, and so did I!

Then, the Sanpete County Fair! What more can we fit into this week? How about some Mutton Bustin'!! The kids lined up to wait their turn at riding large wooly sheep. My kids were the last ones to ride. They watched and watched in anticipation. I thought maybe Lane would back out as he watched kids fly off into the clumpy dirt. But no, he was the first of my kids to ride. They sent him out there before Andy could even get a helmet on him. Good thing he had his cowboy hat from Texas! He held on for a few seconds and then landed with a thud and ended up in tears. He has recovered and is looking forward to next year...already!

Next came Alex! He road that sheep like a Champ! He scored the highest and was awarded with a gigantic trophy! He could not have been more happy. What more does a kid need than a 3 foot trophy with a sheep on top?? Now that is something to be proud about!
"Hold on AJ!" He rode across the arena and when the sheep stopped, he jumped off! It was classic!

Way to go Alex, Madi, and Lane. It looked so fun that next year, me and Oil Can are going to enter the Muttin Bustin competition.
