Party Time!

What a week it has been!  Paarrties!  Griffin turned TWO and Lane turned FIVE!  Here is a short recap of all the fun!
Grandma Sandra put together a fun family party for my two boys.

Sandra thought it would be fun to do something a "little different".  So, when it was time to eat, she made sure we all washed our hands, sat us all down, and then "dumped" our lunch in the center of the table!!  The kids thought it was awesome....no silverware, no plate to have to clean up, no manners!  Us adults just kind of looked at each other and then laughed.  It is good we are family!  It was fun.  Griffin didn't see anything wrong with it...that was no change in the way his food his presented to him.
But, we also had cheese and chocolate fondue with lots of dipping items....on plates!  It was yummy!

Grandma Sandra always takes the grand kids shopping for their birthdays.  Lane picked out this duck hunting set.  He was excited to finally get to play with it.

All the Cox Cousins....what a fun family we have!

 Cousin hug for Lane...

So then, on Monday my mom took Lane on a little shopping trip.  She took him down to Salina to a "real cowboy store!"  He came home with this new shirt, a belt with his name on the back, and a black vest.  He could not stop smiling and he has not had these clothes off for three days.  He cracks me up!  He felt really cool, I must say.

Tuesday was his "real birthday."  It would be a "Cool Cowboy" Party.  Lane was the party planner.  He had it all planned out in his head what he wanted.

The Cake....

The Party.... Lane invited 13 of his best cowboy friends! All were asked to come dressed as a cowboy.  The party involved rodeo games such as hide racing, barrel racing, hitting a bandit (Andy) with foam balls, hot dog eating, presents, pin the hat on the cowboy, and pinata hitting! It was a boot-stompin' good time!

The Hide Races..... stick horses, fleece tied to rope , and a stuffed animal for the hide rider.

Lane was all decked out in his western gear as he left the starting line to get his hide rider!

Barrel racing.....  "Ride em' Cowboy!

Cowboy picnic with hot dogs, Doritos, Capri-Suns, oh and carrots!!

Singing "Happy Birthday" to the birthday boy!

Presents....a gumball machine brought a big smile to Lane's face!  He also got a real cowboy rope, gloves, cars, swimming toys, sling shot, and we gave him a Nintendo DS.

Pinata Time!

Lane busted open the pinata has his friends chanted his name in support!

Pin the hat on the Cowboy.  Lane drew this cowboy face and hat.  This was all his idea!

I sure love this little Dude!  The cowboy phase is cute for now, but I will never let him on a real bucking horse or bull!!  Not this mamma!

My mom and dad gave Lane this super soft and cuddly blanket.  It has cowboy boots, horse shoes, and stars printed on it.  Lane has pretty much been wrapped up in it all day.

Lane loved his special day.  I have to soak up every moment of kids being young....it is going to quickly.  I just love being a mom!

I will post Griffin's highlights tomorrow.
