All Dogs go to Heaven

All dogs go to Heaven, right? We sure hope so because we lost "Nomie Boy" to old age on Sunday, Sept. 28th.  When we arrived home from a family dinner on Sunday evening, Nomar wasn't there to greet us with is wagging tail.  We knew then something wasn't right.  We searched the neighborhood and eventually the entire town of Manti.  No Nomar.  The following morning we found him lying out in our pumpkin patch.  There  were no signs of injury - it was just his time to go.  It was a sad day.  Nomar was 8 years old.  He got his name from the Red Sox short stop, Nomar Garciapara.  We will sure miss his sweet personality and never ending loyalty.
This  photo was taken on a hike up at Ferron.  He loved the freedom in the mountains.
We buried Nomar out to Grandpa's Farm where he loved to hunt pheasants.  The kids wrote letters and drew pictures for the grave.

Good-bye Nomie, we love you!

Fetching tennis balls was Nomar's most favorite activity - we hung a tennis ball from a stick to mark his grave.  Andy also hung his duck hunting vest on a near by fence post.
Since we got Tuff, Andy had been taking Nomar and Tuff for a nightly walk.  Now he isn't too sure if he can be seen walking with just a  little Cocker Spaniel - Tuff is NOT a "man's dog."  I wouldn't be surprised if another Lab is in the works!

We were sorry to here about Nomar. Andy Bill says it would be wise to get a mans dog. Because cocker's are def not a mans best friend. (He hates howdy and I think he tried to run him over). We were laughing about the time we went pheasant hunting in Moroni and Nomar chased that pheasant through the field, jumped at it and belly rolled. Good times!!!!!

I was very sad to hear about Nomar. I know how much he meant to the whole family..I can only imagine the intense grief that will be felt when Spike bites the dust..I'm not too sure that Voo will be able to handle it. I know how wrapped up you get in these dogs lives..even for a non-dog lover like me, I can appreciate the intense feelings you have for these animals...damn things. Curt left this morning for the opening of the duck hunt and Duke was beside himself, he was so excited...poor simple soul..I mean Curt! love to you all...J.

So sad! We're sorry about Nomar! It must be hard on the kids too - we hope they're doing okay! We definitely know how attached we can get to dogs - they really are part of the family! Sorry again!
