July is our party month! Alex turned 9 years old on Friday. Madison got up and got right to work on his cake. He wanted a duck head on his cake, so that is what he got!
She did a super job!
We started off the party by spray painting T-shirts. They painted baseballs, footballs, and of coarse, duck heads!
We then had cake and icecream....
Then some presents....
He also got a basketball standard for outside that I didn't get any photos of yet.
And then out to the lake to do some boating! Yahoo!
Drake, Alex, and Kevin.....best buds!
Nothing like eating pizza in the tube!
Grandma and Grandpa came over when we got home and gave Alex his very own float tube. This is for fishing! He can't wait to use it at Ferron.
And Star Wars Legos too!
Alex said it was his best birthday ever! I am so glad he had fun and felt special on his big day!
We had Kevin and Kort sleep over after Alex's party. On Saturday morning we got up, called Karl and Colette, and went out Crawdad hunting down west of town. It was a total success!
We tied hotdogs onto yarn and dangled them down into the water between rocks. Pretty soon you could see little pinchers come up and grab at our bait --- it was so cool!
Colette was a pro! She totally out did her husband! She made sure all the kids caught one, and all the adults for that matter!
Check out the crawdad dangling from the hotdog!
We caught 17 -- then let them all go.
Lane really wanted to hold one. Andy had this little one for him to hold for a picture. Lane took ahold of it and it scared him so he dropped it. He then started to cry. Andy got it again and this time Lane held it long enough for the picture. Kind of funny how scared he looks!
What a fun summer weekend! I don't want summer to end.
