Family Time in Durango

We were able to get away from work, cooking, cleaning, school, the dogs, and all other responsibility for a long weekend in Durango, Colorado!  My parents came along and we met up with family and friends from New Mexico as well as other family from Utah.  We skied at a really great resort.  Then we mostly swam!  The kids were most happy in the pool!  Madison, Andy, Becky, Larry, Chloe, and AJ in front.....headed down for our first run of the day!  It was a beautiful sunny day on the slopes.  My mom, along with other helpful family members, tended Lane for the day.  They showed him around Durango while we skied.
AJ and Gramps.  Last year at this time we took this same trip to Durango.  My dad got on skis for the first time in 30 years!  He was back at it again this year as well.   He was tearing it up...skis together, knees bent, good side to side motion!  It was fun to watch him ski with the kids.
Madison and Gramps...

Whenever Dad saw me with the camera, we would turn on the classic ski moves!

This was AJ's classic ski move...tipping over!!  He was determined to hit this one specific "jump."  He tipped over before he even got to it!

The Gang!  Kaden, Bodie, Rich, Naloni, Dad, Wyatt, Becky, Riley, Chloe, Andy, AJ, Maddie

We discovered this little village that had "houses" to ski through.  The kids love it!

The kids swam and swam and swam and swam and splashed and splashed and jumped and jumped!  Never ending pool fun!  It was fun to go from the slopes to the hot tub!
One of AJ's tricks!
Andy would launch them into a flying back flip.  They couldn't get enough-
Check out AJ upside down in the air!

Even Lane got in on the back flip action!
Here Andy is starting to drag Chloe out of the hot tub and into the pool.  I missed the actual "throw-in" part.
When we weren't skiing or swimming we were hanging out with family.  Here are the kids with my cousin Jesse and her boyfriend Derak.  They came from New Mexico.  It was great to see them and catch up.  You won't meet two nicer people!
My cousin Polly brought craft supplies to make these awesome paper flowers.  Madison loved it.  They also beaded necklaces together.  Thanks Polly for the fun craft activities!
Polly even made a little paper flower for Julie's (Maddie's doll) hair!  Ooh lala!
We made a visit to a local park so Andy, Lucca, and Tom could use some of their bottled up energy!  They were out of control!
We also spent some time strolling down Durango's unique mainstreet.  It was a good time.  The three days went really fast.  It is always good to see family...even if it is just for a short period of time.  I think this Durango trip is turning into a tradition -- count us in for next year!  Love to you all-
