Visitors from Vermont!

This past week was such a delight.  I got to spend it with my one and only sister!  Her and her daughter Maia came to visit from Vermont.  We only get to see them 2 or 3 times a year so when they come we spend quality time doing quality activities....like  visiting every candy and ice cream store between Manti and Ephraim, like going for afternoon walks around Manti, like going out for lunch, like playing with the kids, and of course scrap booking!  Kristeen, my sister, brought a years worth of photos from when Maia was a baby.  The two of us put together an awesome scrapbook of Maia's first year with them. We had such a great time just hanging around the table scraping pictures, visiting, and letting the kids run free.  The kids played so well together -- you will see from the following photos.  Kristeen is my only sibling so I have always felt close to her.  Although we have lived miles and miles apart for many years I still think about her all the time.  I truly enjoy spending time with her...wish we could do it more often!  The picture above is from a visit she made last summer.  I was so busy taking pictures of the  kids this time that I didn't get one of Kristeen.  :(

Madison, Maia, and AJ sporting big smiles at the candy store in  Ephraim!

While Maddie was at school these three had some fun playing pirates.  We had a "Batman Pirate" and a "Robot Pirate" and a little pirate with a red bandanna and green sash!  They went on a real treasure hunt with a map and everything!

AJ and Maia spent at least 30 minutes each day just looking at books and "reading" to each other.  It was very cute!

At the end of the week we visited the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point.
They liked this Triceratops as well as the other full dinosaur skeletons-
They also spent some time digging for fossils in the sand.

After the museum we went to a 3-D movie about Animals in Africa.  Check out the 3-D glasses!
We then spent the night in Salt Lake before Kristeen and Maia had to fly home.  The kids swam, giggled, and splashed.  It was "Quality Cousin Time!"
Maia and Lane hanging in the hot tub-
Meanwhile... AJ was doing flips into the pool!

The next morning my mom took Kristeen and Maia to the airport.  On the way back to Manti we made one last stop at a fun aquarium in South Salt Lake.  I didn't even know it was there until my Aunt Jackie informed me about it.  Thanks Jackie! It was worth the stop.  Easy to get to and it had some great displays.
Here is AJ watching a shark--
Like I said, it was  a great week.  Thanks "Teen Teen" and Maia for making the trip out to Utah!  We love you!

Sisters are the best! I don't know what I would do without mine. I feel like Sarah lives too far away and she is ten minutes from my house! I'm glad you had such a wonderful time together, it was so good to see you all, even if it was for only a short time.

Attention: Readers of this blog..... Don't be fooled by this collection of "cute" photos. These kids are all bratts. That's why I call them the Tiny Terrors. ... voo

Kevin thought it was so cool to see AJ doing a flip in the pool. We tried to get him to do one last weekend and he was too scared. Now he says he can do one since aj can. Can't wait for the pool to open!!!!

Thanks for posting the pics! We had a great time! We miss you guys so much--already! Can't believe I'm already home looking at the photos. It went too fast. I'm laughing remembering the kids together. The pirates, the tennis balls, the dancing, the books, the little "me too." So adorable.

It sounds like it was such a fun time together. I love when my kids can spent time with their cousins. It is the best!! It is always so hard when they leave.

Wow Robyn, your blog is a lot prettier than mine. You would think I would learn a thing or two about backdrops with all my years as a scrapbook pimp. The photos are great; did AJ do any karate at some point? Just bust out a move in the aquarium or at the dinosaur museum? I wish we could have seen Teen Teen.
