So I am still trying to finish up our 4th of July week! It has required 3 different blog posts.
We finished up the week of fun with a visit to our family cabin at Ferron Reservoir.
My sister, Kristeen, and her daughter, Maia. We went on a beautiful hike up through the aspen trees and wild flowers....

Maia encouraged AJ to sniff this wild flower...he wasn't too thrilled with the smell (as you can see from his expression)
Action shot of AJ jumping over a log on our hike. He always has this kind of energy!
Madison and Maia
Grandpa teaching AJ and Lane about the tricks of fishing. They think he knows everything!
Well, I guess Grandpa does know everything (at least about fishing)...check out Lane's catch!

We relaxed around the camp fire--

The next morning we went for another hike. We found a trail that took us around the lake. A different points of interest there were informative signs about the surroundings and habitat. We let the kids take turns being "rangers." Maia was by far the most interesting ranger. She made up great descriptions about the wildlife and environment. It was very cute!
Stopping by the beaver dam --
Grandma and her boys.
It was such a fun week. We then had to return home and say good-bye to Kristeen and Maia. They had to return to Vermont. It is always hard to see them leave...because when they leave, the fun is over!
