24th of July...Mountain Style

We had a wonderful 24th of July up in the mountains...no better place to be!  We fished, rode 4-wheelers, hiked, ate good food, played games, roasted marshmallows, and rode bikes.  The cabin is a perfect place to spend quality time with family.

The best part of my weekend was a bike ride with Andy.  We rode a little way across skyline drive then down through George's Fork.  It was green, lush, and so much fun!  This was our starting point.  You can see Duck Fork Lake in the background.  That is where we ended up and then from Duck Fork over to Ferron.  We rode a total of 15 miles.  I know that isn't a lot to some of you, but to me, that is plenty!

Look at that awesome scenery ahead of us!

Groves of Aspens lined the path....

Andy making a splash....

We also explored the mountains on our 4-wheelers. Maddie and Lane getting the wheeler warmed up.

Grandpa helped us fish.  The kids always enjoy fishing!  This time Andy gave them their first lesson in "gutting" their own fish!  Nice!!  I guess this makes them "real mountain kids!"

We also hiked and found our names we carved in trees last year.

While we were biking, fishing, and hiking,  Griffin spent some quality time with Grandma Barb back at the cabin.  His favorite new past time is blowing spit raspberries.  He ends up with spit all over his chubby little face, forehead, and chin!  Thanks Grammy for taking care of him while we play.  Maybe next year he can be more involved in the mountain activities. :)
