A Good Hometown 4th of July

Nothing says 4th of July like parades, foot races, dunk tanks, and watermelon.  This post covers the events that took place as we celebrated the 4th of July in our little home-town of Manti!

We kicked the festivities off by participating in the parade.  What a gang!

Kristeen and Griffin waited for the parade with excitment!  Maybe next year Griffin can  make is parade debut!

Maddie on her decorated bike...

Lane, Gramps, and AJ on the Harley.  They had the most fun throwing candy!

The next day we hit the park for the traditional 4th activities.  My Aunt Joanne was there to cheer the kids on in their foot races!

Lane ran his little heart out...he brought home the first place prize!!

AJ and Maia ran a good race too.  They were awarded with a Popsicle!

AJ and Maddie teamed up  for the 3-legged race.  They didn't even fall down!

The next big event was the dunk tank.  Andy is up there every year.  But, this year he took Maddie and then AJ up there with him.  It was classic.  The kids LOVED it!  This is one of my most favorite pics ever!

AJ's turn!   Dry....
Not so dry.....

Then...the egg toss.  Madison had total concentration as she went in for a catch.

AJ threw with spirit!  Too bad we never won anything!

After the park we went up to Andy's Uncle Reid's house.  There we ate good food, visited, and of course ate WATERMELON!
(No, I didn't let him bite any off to choke on.  He just had a wonderful time sucking out the juice!  It was priceless!)

We then headed off to Zions the next morning.  Those pics will be coming soon--
